The Patient Participation Group (PPG) at Thurmaston Health Centre is a vital way for patients to have a voice in shaping local healthcare services.

By working closely with the practice team, the PPG helps identify areas for improvement, ensures patient perspectives are considered, and fosters stronger communication between the practice and its patients.

We’re looking for more members to join us—getting involved is a great way to make a real difference to your healthcare experience and that of your community.

Meet Priti – PPG Chair

"I’m Priti, a mother of two and a Specialist Nurse working in the community. I joined the PPG after receiving an email invitation from Thurmaston Health Centre. As both a healthcare professional and a patient, I saw it as a valuable opportunity to represent local patients and help improve services.

The PPG plays an important role in patient care by driving positive changes—improving how patients engage with the practice and enhancing ongoing services. While it can be challenging to build an active group, working with people from all backgrounds toward a shared goal is incredibly rewarding.

Being part of the PPG means you can directly influence the quality of care at your GP practice. I encourage anyone thinking about joining to get involved—it’s a chance to make meaningful changes for you, your family, and the wider patient community."

If you share Priti's passion for making a positive impact in healthcare and want to get involved, reach out to the team at Thurmaston Health Centre's Patient Participation Group. Together, you can help shape a brighter future for healthcare in your community.
