The Learning and Development Team were honoured in the Valuing People category for the amazing work they do in ensuring our people have the right knowledge and skills to deliver care in the right way. They embody our CARE values by promoting inclusivity, compassion and inspiring continuous improvement to encourage us all to be the best we can be for you.

Champion: The Primary Care Anima Project Team

Congratulations to the Primary Care Anima Project Team, our Innovation in Healthcare Champions at this year's DHU CARE Awards. More than 16,000 patients in the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland area benefitted from this new system that streamlined access to care and the triage process, ensuring the right care is provided more quickly. Collective brilliance and partnership working at its best with skills and experience from different departments coming together for the good of our patients.

Champion: The Garats Hay Clinical Team, Urgent Care South (LLR)

 

Here is The Garats Hay Clinical Team, Urgent Care South, our Improvement Through Collaboration Champions who work tirelessly providing medical care for a particularly vulnerable group of people. Working closely with regional health partners and the Ministry of Defence, they have performed wonders to make a genuine difference to patient care.

This award recognised a team or individual for demonstrating exceptional social responsibility either within or outside our company – setting an inspiring example for others to follow. It celebrated those who actively contributed to bettering their communities, embodying the values of social responsibility, including charitable endeavours, support of good causes, environmental action, volunteering and civic engagement.

The NHS 111 CQI and DoS Leads

Our NHS 111 CQI and DoS Leads were honoured in the We CARE for You - 111 Services category,,,standing for Continuous Quality Improvement, this team helps to drive forward innovative ideas and bring out the expertise our people have in abundance. They are simply amazing and make an enormous difference to our people and the lives of our patients, we are better because of them.

Champion:Derbyshire Community Nursing Team

The Derbyshire Community Nursing Team provide essential care to patients in their own home, helping to prevent unnecessary trips to hospital or GP services and maintaining the comfort and independence of this group of patients. A vital part of our regional health partnership, supporting patients and the wider health system has never been more important.

Champion: Bowling Green Surgery

We wanted to say a huge congratulations to our Bowling Green Street Surgery Team in Leicester. They were named DHU's We CARE For You - Primary Care Services Champions at our recent DHU CARE Awards 2024 and deservedly so. Caring for thousands of patients, this team are dedicated, compassionate, innovative and do everything humanly possible to ensure every patient gets the best possible care when they need it the most.

Champion: Clinical System Specialists (SystmOne)

Our Clinical System Specialists (SystmOne) team consists of Beverly O'Rourke and Jane Bradley, who sadly couldn't attend our DHU CARE Awards 2024. This duo have transformed clinical systems across three urgent care centres, enhancing the experience for thousands of patients, all from behind the scenes.

We celebrated three of our amazing people, Amy O'Connell from People and Culture, Cathy Hardy from Urgent Care and Gemma Beach from our 111 service who each lead by example with kindness, compassion and empowering those around them.

Champions: The NHS 111 Quad and Birch House Project Teams

With two major site moves in two geographically different DHU areas, the NHS 111 Quad and Birch House Project Teams were named our Collective Brilliance Champions, transforming our 111 Advice Centres in Chesterfield and Oldbury.

Champion: The NHS 111 Training Team

A special award presented by DHU's Staff Forum, our NHS 111 Training Team are integral to how our 111 team are able to look after patients, use new systems that are introduced, assess the right care for patients and ensure new starters are shown the ropes. Passing on knowledge in a way that is inspiring and bringing people on board with the journey we are taking is everything our CARE values represent.

Champion: NHS 111 NICE CXOne Telephony System Mobilisation Team

Innovation is an important part of moving forwards and by introducing a cloud based telephony system to our four 111 Advice Centres, our NHS 111 NICE CXone Telephony System Mobilisation Team stood out. Transforming the way we are able to take calls, assess patients, give advice, refer people to the right place for care and deliver training, this system has changed the way our teams operate.
