Work is due to start in April on refurbishing part of the Eyam Surgery.
Some clinical rooms will be out of action during the three-week programme, due to start on Monday 7th April, almost a year to the day since DHU Healthcare took on the running of patient services.
Once finished, patients will notice a difference to the downstairs patient waiting areas with new flooring, walls will be re-decorated with improved lighting and patient toilet facilities.
Patients are being reassured that the work will have no impact on any planned appointments with additional appointment slots added to the Bradwell Surgery to help with demand.
Martin Middleton part of the Practice Management Team at Eyam Surgery, said: “It will make a big difference to the patient experience, creating a brighter environment, more comfortable waiting areas and it will give the whole surgery a lift.
“We would ask patients coming for treatment during the works not to arrive too early as waiting rooms may be busier than usual. And for the second two weeks, from 14th April, the collection of medication from the pharmacy will be through the door at the back of the building.
“But this minor disruption will properly future proof the building to give our people and patients the best possible environment to continue to provide quality care.”
Some initial work has already taken place, including the installation of internal and external CCTV cameras and some initial lighting work has already been carried out.
Work is expected to be completed by Friday 25th April.
