This week we’d like to introduce you to Liberty Payne-Wright, who will shortly be changing roles to become a Business Intelligence Analyst.
Liberty has been with DHU since 2019, starting as an admin assistant in our out of hours team in Chesterfield, taking some time out to study a degree in Computer Science before graduating and coming back in 2023 as scheduling analyst in our 111 team.
It’s quite the journey and Liberty told us: “Computing has always been a passion for me. I was home-schooled when I was little, so I had the freedom to learn what I wanted. Many people I spent time with, including my parents, were into computers but it was Coding that intrigued me the most because it was like solving problems and puzzles.
“The past six months I’ve been working on rolling out our new telephony system for the NHS111 team. The Resource Planning Team's grown a lot and we've been very hands-on with rolling it out, ensuring all the data is correct, and it suits our needs and those of our patients. We've conducted numerous workshops, collaborating with everyone to make sure it all ran smoothly."
But now Liberty is eagerly anticipating her new role: "I can’t wait! I've heard great things about the Business Intelligence team, how they all work together and support each other. It sounds like I can dive into more data, which is where I want to be. Since moving to DHU, joining this team has been my goal and I've spoken to many of them before, but actually being there will be really interesting.
“For me, data is an important part of the healthcare journey. If it’s taking patients ten minutes to get through at a certain time of day, it’s our job to understand why and see what we can do to rectify that to improve the patient journey. Everyone here has a part fo play in making sure our patients get the right care and I’m proud of the part I play."
Liberty is pleased with the way her career has developed at DHU, adding: “When I was a scheduling analyst, we always knew we could go to our manager for guidance. He encouraged me to join his team because he knew that was my career path. Throughout the whole process, he has been incredibly supportive, even when I told him I was planning on applying for a different job, he asked how he could help me get there and is pleased I'm progressing as I want to. If you want it enough and put yourself out there, you can climb the ladder pretty quickly."
We are delighted to share Liberty’s role as we continue to strengthen and improve the digital services we provide for both our colleagues and our patients.
