We are thrilled to introduce Aiden Woodhall, our recently appointed Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) Coordinator at DHU Healthcare. With a lifetime of personal experience and a strong determination to implement and encourage positive change, Aiden is ready to work on our organisational culture.

Aiden will be looking at a number of different projects, including the development of protected networks, policy and procedural changes, and data analysis. Additionally, Aiden will serve as a point of contact for any ideas, suggestions, or concerns our people have relating to ED&I.

Aiden told us: "I believe in an open-door policy and welcome conversations from everyone. Please feel free to contact me at any time to talk about your experiences, ideas or about what ED&I means to you."

Understanding that ED&I is an integral part of everyday life, Aiden emphasises the importance of fostering an environment that celebrates and encourages individuality. "We all possess protected characteristics," Aiden explains. "We are a melting pot of cultures, identities, and perspectives that should be shared, brought to the forefront and amalgamated to create a brighter future for us all. Our individuality is what makes us who we are and it something we should collectively celebrate."

Reflecting on their approach, Aiden adds, "My goal is to create a workplace where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. By embracing our differences and working together, we can build a more inclusive and supportive environment for all employees."

Alongside colleague Nia Alston-Holmes, our Wellbeing Coordinator, Aiden will participate in the 'Hear4U' sessions to provide colleagues with a secure space for open and protected conversations. Aiden highlights, "We want and encourage colleagues to speak with us about anything related to wellbeing or ED&I. Understanding how we can work together to support our diverse workforce is key to thriving as a community."

Aiden's passion for ED&I and commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment will undoubtedly make a positive impact at DHU Healthcare.
