Congratulations to Tara Rodgers – who has recently qualified as an Assistant Practitioner after completing her foundation degree.

Tara, who is based at our Urgent Care Centre in Loughborough, is celebrating after completing the Assistant Practitioner two-year foundation degree and achieving a distinction grade.

Starting out as an HCA in 2016, Tara has been supported by DHU Healthcare as she has developed within her career with this achievement being a testament to her continued dedication and hard work.

The Assistant Practitioner role is important as it helps to bridge the gap between healthcare support worker and registered practitioner, providing more efficient and effective care to patients, and allowing registered practitioners to focus on more complex cases.

As an Assistant Practitioner Tara will be able to take on more responsibilities and continue to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients as well as providing a higher level of care. This will not only benefit our patients, but it will also benefit our company as a whole.

Zoe Hunt, DHU’s Lead Clinical Mandatory Trainer, said: “I would like to congratulate Tara on gaining a distinction in the Assistant Practitioner two year foundation degree and also completing her maths and English alongside this. She has now passed all of the requirements for her Assistant Practitioner foundation degree including all the apprenticeship standards.

“Over the last two years Tara has been a dedicated student and has excelled both clinically and academically and has been a pleasure to work. I would like to wish Tara all the best in her role as an Assistant Practitioner at the Loughborough Urgent Care Centre.”

I have worked hard with the opportunity DHU has given me and I couldn’t be prouder to have attained a distinction in my degree. With support from both the training team and the clinical team I feel my knowledge in both theory and clinical aspects has increased a huge amount during this time.

“I would like to thank DHU for its support and look forward to continuing to learn and develop within my career. Over the last two years there have been many people who have encouraged me throughout my journey, including Zoe, Adele and the team at the LUCC and I’d like to thank them all for their support.”
