DHU Healthcare’s Leicester GP practices participated in two community events to promote their commitment to the health and wellbeing of both colleagues and patients.
On Saturday, October 5th, Heron, St Matthews and Bowling Green Street Practices took part in the Health and Wellness Community Event organised by Leicester Central PCN at the Wesley Hall centre. Whilst on the 8th October they attended the St Mathews Community Centre for an event sponsored by the SOCOPA.
The event brought together healthcare partners to promote well-being and provide essential health services to the community.
Nana Tamuno, Head of Primary Care, remarked: “Participating in events like this allows us to connect with the community and educate them about the services we offer across our practices. It’s a fantastic opportunity to engage with event attendees and explain our role in promoting well-being.”
Rob Robertson, Head of Clinical Services, emphasised, “This event aligns with our commitment to promoting holistic health and wellness for the community. We are proud to collaborate with Leicester Central PCN and other healthcare partners to promote learning, awareness, and community support.”
DHU Health Care Assistant Amy Gatto provided blood pressure checks, discussed diabetes, and offered valuable health advice to attendees. The Practice Management Team offered general guidance about the services available at the practices, and attendees were shown how to sign up for and use the NHS app.
The event reinforced DHU’s commitment to engaging with community events to better understand local healthcare needs. Nana Tamuno added, “By actively participating in these events, we gain invaluable insights into the unique health concerns and requirements of our patients. This understanding is essential for continuously improving our healthcare services and ensuring they meet the evolving needs of our diverse community.”
