On December 2nd, colleagues from DHU Healthcare proudly presented their 2024 Christmas Appeal donations to Children First Derby, a local charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable children, young people, and families in need.

Staff from the Roundhouse Headquarters# generously collected gifts to contribute to this heartfelt initiative with the support from Debi in the Café.

Children First Derby provides essential services, including mentoring programs and supervised family contact sessions, to strengthen family relationships and improve children’s well-being. Their support is a lifeline for many families, especially during the festive season.

April Francis, People and Culture Organisational Development Specialist, and Aiden Woodhall, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Co-ordinator, met with Children First Derby representatives to deliver the gifts and learn more about the charity’s impactful work. Speaking at the handover, Irshad Baqui, Chief Executive, and Carina James, Deputy Contact Centre Manager, expressed their gratitude for the donations.

Carina shared: "Donations like this make a huge difference. Christmas can be a difficult time of year, and sometimes the families we support simply cannot afford presents. We ensure every child receives a gift from us to make the season brighter."

Children First Derby provides supervised family contact sessions, ensuring children maintain vital relationships in safe and supported environments. Irshad added: "Thank you to all DHU colleagues for their kindness and generosity. These presents will bring immense joy to the children and young people we support."

April Francis reflected on the success of the appeal, stating: "The response from colleagues and DHU, has been very generous. Seeing how these gifts can positively impact families reminds us why initiatives like this matter. Together, we’ve helped spread festive cheer to those who need it most."

Thank you to everyone at DHU who contributed to this year’s appeal—we're proud you’ve made a meaningful difference to our community.
