DHU Healthcare’s Palliative Care Urgent Response Service team has been recognised for its outstanding commitment to patient care, winning three prestigious accolades at the Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards in Birmingham on Friday, 14th March 2025.
The team received awards in the following categories:
- Collaboration (Integration) Award
- Leadership Award (Jill Davies)
- End of Life Award
The awards ceremony, hosted by acclaimed actress Sally Lindsay, celebrated the invaluable contributions of organisations and individuals within the third sector. The nominations this year were truly incredible, sharing deeply moving stories that highlighted the dedication and compassion of those working in healthcare and social care.

As a Midlands-based not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC), DHU Healthcare is devoted to delivering excellent patient care. This remarkable recognition reflects the relentless effort, innovation, and commitment of the Palliative Care Urgent Response Service team, who provide exceptional end-of-life care to patients and their families.
Jill Davies, Palliative Care Clinical Lead and recipient of the Leadership Award, said the award wasn’t just for her: “These awards are really special and celebrate the hard work and dedication of our entire team. We are privileged to support patients and their loved ones during some of the most challenging times in their lives, and I am incredibly proud of the work we do every day.”
