Colleagues at DHU Healthcare have joined together to speak out whilst supporting mental health in Derbyshire.
DHU has handed over a cheque for £2,803 to Derbyshire Mind, a charity that provides essential assistance to individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
As part of the organisation’s People Survey and recognising its’ social responsibilities as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, DHU pledged £10 for every completed survey. Colleagues had the choice to put or split that pledge between three significant charities: Derbyshire Mind, Childline, and Refuge. Each of these organisations plays a vital role in amplifying the voices of those silenced by mental health issues and providing support to those in need.
As a charity operating within one of the regions served by DHU Healthcare, we are confident that the invaluable work carried out by Derbyshire Mind will directly enhance the communities we serve.
Speaking about the donation and DHU Healthcare's support, Jenny Hotchkiss, Chief Executive of Derbyshire Mind, said, "We are truly thankful to DHU Healthcare for their generous donation. This contribution will enable us to continue our mission of providing essential support and assistance to individuals facing mental health challenges. Together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need."
The cheque was presentation at the DHU Head Office, located at the Roundhouse in Derby where Jenny had the opportunity to explain how the impactful work carried out by Derbyshire Mind has such a positive influence on the community.
Victoria Searby, Director of Finance at DHU Healthcare, was there to hear more, stating, "As a Community Interest Company, we understand the importance of supporting and providing care and advice that will enhance the well-being of the communities we serve. We take great pride in supporting Derbyshire Mind and their incredible efforts to empower individuals facing mental health challenges.
“Our People Survey has given a voice to our colleagues, allowing them to share and express their thoughts and opinions about working here, that voice isn’t always available to those who live without mental health support. Derbyshire Mind plays an essential role in providing that voice and, through this partnership and fundraising initiative, we hope to contribute to creating safer and healthier communities for everyone."
