Community Interest Company DHU Healthcare welcomed Maria Hanson MBE and the team from the me&dee Charity to their headquarters in Derby on Monday, April 29th, for a special event marking the launch of their charity partnership.

Last year, DHU Healthcare pledged its support to the Charity by sponsoring one ‘Hope’ elephant a month for two year – soft toys containing a mini voice recorder and memory notes – creating lasting memories for those who will lose a family member to a life-shortening or life-limiting condition.

With a new Social Impact Committee now in place, the company has opted to extend this partnership - joining forces with me&dee in a bid to encourage their employees and the wider community to support a cause close to their hearts.

Stephen Bateman, Chief Executive at DHU, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "This collaboration perfectly represents our values and commitment to citizenship. It is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with a like-minded charity. We have heard stories from our DHU people that really resonate with the work that me&dee does and I’m proud that everything we raise will go towards making a noticeable difference to the charity and those it supports.”

During the event, me&dee presented DHU Healthcare with two branded Hope elephants and framed ‘thank you’ poems. The team shared powerful stories about how these special gifts make a difference to children and young people during difficult times.

Maria Hanson (MBE), founder and CEO of the Derby-based Me&Dee Charity, expressed her gratitude, saying, "This generous donation from DHU Healthcare is a testament to their commitment to act in the interest of their communities as well as delivering care to patients. It will enable us to continue providing essential support and services to those who need it most. We are deeply grateful for their support."

Stephen continued: “We look forward to seeing our partnership with Me&Dee Charity grow – so we can do our bit to help them make a positive impact on the lives of children, young people, and families.
