Colleagues at DHU Healthcare have been having their say to donate thousands of pounds to a charity supporting those affected by domestic abuse.

DHU Healthcare presented Refuge with a cheque for £3543 after pledging £10 for every completed DHU People Survey to support those who are unable or too afraid for their own safety to speak out for themselves.

The donations were to encourage participation in a survey designed to enable our colleagues to voice their opinions as well as raise awareness of the three charities, MIND, Childline and Refuge, each giving a voice and support to those who have been silenced or don’t have their own voice.

Refuge was selected as the first recipient due to the alignment of their mission and values with DHU's commitment to compassion, care, and service.

Trishna Datta, Senior Community Fundraising Executive at Refuge, expressed her gratitude for DHU Healthcare's support: "We are truly grateful to DHU Healthcare for their generous donation. This contribution will enable us to continue our mission of providing vital support and assistance to women and their children affected by domestic abuse. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of survivors."

The cheque presentation took place at the DHU Head Office, located at the Roundhouse in Derby. Trishna Datta had the opportunity to share more about the impactful work carried out by Refuge and the positive impact it has on the community.

Victoria Searby, Director of Finance at DHU Healthcare, was there to hand over the donation and expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, adding: "As a Community Interest Company, DHU Healthcare is dedicated to adding value to the communities in which we operate. We are proud to support Refuge and their commendable efforts to empower survivors of domestic abuse.

“Our People Survey has given a voice to our colleagues, enabling them to tell us what they think about working here, a voice that is denied to those who are affected by domestic abuse. Refuge do a tremendous job in helping to give them that voice and by working together and raising funds in this way, we hope to be able to support the creation of safer and healthier communities for everyone."

DHU Healthcare extends its gratitude to those at Refuge for their tireless dedication and the work they do to keep people safe.
