In September 2023, a dedicated team of DHU colleagues embarked on a remarkable journey of compassion and community support. They braved the Autumn Wolf Run, not only to test their determination and resilience but to support SHARP, a local charity in the heart of the West Midlands, committed to helping those experiencing homelessness.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of families, friends, and colleagues, the team managed to raise over £1,000 for SHARP, a significant accomplishment in itself. But the story doesn't end there.
At the end of October, the DHU Communications Team had the privilege of meeting with Lisa and the SHARP team at our 111 call centre in Oldbury. Here, they proudly handed over a cheque for a whopping £1,160!
Lisa Sankey, the project manager at SHARP, shared the impact that this support will have on the charity and the lives of those they serve:
"The funds DHU raised will be used to provide essential items that are often hard to afford due to the cost-of-living crisis. From nappies for babies to toiletries and female hygiene products for teenagers. The money will also assist with electricity bills and cover travel costs to health appointments, among many other essential items needed for everyday living."
"Additionally, we're thrilled to announce that we can now host a Christmas party for individuals who are separated from their families or experience isolation during the festive season. This year, our financial constraints made it seem impossible, but the generosity of DHU and the incredible donations have made it a reality.’

DHU Healthcare's Chief Executive, Stephen Bateman, who was part of the team that took part in the event, said: "It was an honour to participate in the Wolf Run alongside my colleagues. It was great to see everyone supporting each other and committing to the challenge! As a community interest company, we believe in supporting good causes, especially when they bring our DHU people together.
