DHU Healthcare colleagues have come together to raise almost £5,000 for Childline by speaking out themselves.
The charity, providing essential support and advice to children and young people facing various challenges, has been handed a cheque for £4883 from DHU Healthcare after the not-for-profit, Community Interest Company pledged to donate £10 for every completed DHU People Survey response.
The initiative enabled those working at DHU the opportunity to voice their opinions anonymously and in confidence whilst raising awareness for three charities, namely MIND, Childline, and Refuge. These organisations provide support and guidance to those who may be in need, giving a voice to those who don’t always have the means or a safe space to speak out themselves.
Victoria Searby, Director of Finance at DHU Healthcare, was present to hand over the donation and was enthusiastic about the collaboration, stating, "As a Community Interest Company, DHU Healthcare is committed to enhancing the well-being of the communities we serve. We are proud to support Childline and their incredible efforts to empower children and young people, to ensure their safety and protection. Our People Survey has given a voice to our own people and, by supporting Childline, we aim to contribute to the creation of safer and healthier communities for all."
Jayna Kawa, the NSPCC Corporate Partnerships Manager (Midlands), thanked DHU Healthcare for its support, saying, "We are truly grateful to DHU Healthcare for their generous donation. This contribution will enable us to continue our mission of providing necessary support and assistance to children and young people. Together, we can make a significant difference in their lives."
The cheque presentation ceremony took place at DHU's Head Office, located at the Roundhouse in Derby where Jayna had the opportunity to highlight the impactful work carried out by Childline and its positive influence on the community.
