We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on one of our exceptional charity champions, Michael Benton, who serves as a Driver and Out of Hours (OOH) Coordinator based in Chesterfield.
Michael's passion for giving back to the community is truly inspiring, and he is set to make a significant impact this November with his unique exhibition titled 'The Wonders of Nature.'
Michael's exhibition is not just a showcase of his remarkable artistic talents; it's a heartfelt journey into the beauty of nature that surrounds us every day. His aim is to transport us to a different place, if only for a moment, to escape the hustle and bustle of our day-to-day lives and gain a newfound appreciation for the wonders right at our doorstep.
Speaking about his motivation, Michael Benton shared, "For every picture that I sell at the exhibition, I will be making a donation to the Ashgate Hospice. Both the hospice and our DHU Palliative Care Car Team were deeply involved in my mother's care, and I'll be forever grateful to them. They were amazing. I'll also donate another one of my pictures to DHU to be displayed in the reception area at Ashgate Manor. I think they're good for relaxing patients."
With his keen eye for capturing the essence of our surroundings, Michael shared, "Many of the landscapes featured in 'The Wonders of Nature' are taken from locations across Derbyshire, a region close to our hearts. I wanted to showcase the beauty that may be familiar to our colleagues, allowing them to connect with the scenes on a personal level. Additionally, some pieces in the collection depict landscapes from various corners of the UK that I've had the privilege to visit over the years."
Michael's dedication to his craft is evident in the diverse range of landscapes he presents, each telling a unique story. Primarily using oils and acrylics, his artistic journey spans many years, reflecting a deep commitment to honing his skills and sharing his vision of the world's natural splendour.
For those interested in attending, the event will take place at West Studios on Sheffield Road in Chesterfield, running from November 13th to November 24th. The exhibition can be visited on weekdays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
