In a bold move to raise both funds and awareness for Alzheimer's, Juwayriyah Kausar, a dedicated Health Advisor within our NHS111 team, is gearing up for a challenging boxing event set for March. Alongside fellow boxers, she will undergo rigorous training, all with the aim of generating donations for the Alzheimer's Society.

Juwayriyah shared the personal motivation behind her commitment to this cause, revealing, "Someone close to me was recently diagnosed with dementia, and it's been really hard on them and our family. He's the most amazing and inspiring person I know, and it's heartbreaking to see him suffering."

When the opportunity arose to participate in a charity boxing match, Juwayriyah knew she had to seize it, selecting the Alzheimer's Society as her chosen charity. Her mission extends beyond fundraising; she is determined to shed light on the emotional challenges faced by those living with dementia.

She explained, "I feel like not a lot of people are aware of how someone living with dementia feels, so, I've been spreading awareness about it in support of those suffering with this. It's difficult, and the more people know about it, the more they can help others who are going through it."

“I've started training and it has been really hard, but I'm working with a wonderful team! I know it'll be tough, but it'll be worth it.”
