A new chapter begins for the Corby Urgent Treatment Centre (CUTC) as DHU Healthcare takes on the delivery of services, ensuring continued access to high-quality, compassionate care for local patients and communities.
As an established provider of urgent and emergency care across the Midlands, DHU Healthcare, a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC), brings a strong track record of excellence in patient care and partnership working. The organisation will work closely with the Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) and local health partners to ensure the ongoing delivery of safe, effective, and responsive urgent care for Corby residents.
DHU Healthcare already provides Northamptonshire’s GP Out of Hours service, and operates several Urgent Treatment Centres in Loughborough, Chesterfield, Derby, and Leicestershire. With a proud history of delivering NHS services since 1990, DHU is also the largest provider of NHS 111 services in England, with its Urgent Care North services in Derbyshire rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in 2023.
The Corby Urgent Treatment Centre will continue to operate seven days a week, from 8am to 8pm, supporting patients who walk in or are referred via NHS 111 or their GP for urgent care needs that are not life-threatening.
Paul Tilson, Chief Operating Officer at DHU Healthcare, said: “We’re delighted to have the opportunity to deliver quality, compassionate care to the people and communities of Corby.
“Our focus is on working with local people, staff, and partners to ensure we provide the right service for everyone. We’ve spent time listening to the existing team at the centre to understand their experience and insight into the community they serve. That local knowledge is invaluable in helping us build on what already works well and identify where we can make further improvements.
“At DHU, our patients are at the heart of everything we do. We’re proud to work collaboratively with our people and partners to deliver services that make our patients feel cared for, valued, and supported.”
Eileen Doyle, Chief Delivery Officer, Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland ICB and Northamptonshire ICB, which commissions services for local people, said “We are delighted to welcome DHU to Corby and look forward to working with them to improve urgent care services in the surrounding area. We believe the partnership with DHU will bring real benefits to patients and look forward to working with local partners to further enhance services at Corby Urgent Care Centre.”
