We’re creating a series of articles to introduce you to a range of colleagues, showing how our varied teams and colleagues work and fit into the way DHU approaches patient care.

This week, we shine the spotlight on Allison Graham, who is a Non Clinical Performance Manager based in Chesterfield. In a busy and complex role, Allison leads up Health and Clinical Advisers within the NHS 111 service from her base at Ashgate Manor.

Allison said: “I started working for DHU five years ago as a Dental Nurse Advisor, before moving to a seconded post as Dental Team Manager. From there I then progressed to Non-Clinical Performance Manager and I now lead a team of 26 mixed Health Advisors and Clinical Advisors.

“The busy role includes a wide range of duties such as: performance management, auditing, feedback, absence management (and the absence line), helping the team reach and maintain advice centre targets, monthly 1-1 meetings with each team member, buzz sessions, appraisals and much much more!”

“The proudest moment in my DHU career so far has been all the 111 staff pulling together during the onset of Covid, even though they were scared and worried themselves, they still showed up every single day and worked through the hundreds of queuing calls.

“An interesting fact about me? When I’m not at work I am an Motor Sports Association registered rally marshal and travel all over the UK and Ireland to volunteer at rallies. It’s cold and noisy… but so exciting!

“If I were to to give anyone any advice it would be to always ask if you are unsure.”

Thanks to Allison for telling us about her role and keep your eyes peeled for DHU’s next #WhatDoYouDo.
