Starting something new is never easy, but for trainee Health Advisor Emily Clutterbuck, those first-week nerves quickly turned into confidence.

“I was more nervous about meeting new people than the job itself,” she shared. “But by the end of the first day, I felt so much more at ease. Everyone was friendly, and the classroom felt really supportive.”

For Emily, hands-on learning made all the difference. “Scenarios and practical work helped everything click into place, especially using the Pathways system. I learn best by doing, not just reading.”

There were challenges too. Adastra took some getting used to, and revision felt overwhelming at times. But passing her first assessments gave her a huge boost. “I was shocked by how much I actually knew,” she said.

By week four, Emily felt ready for the next step. “The training is intense, but I’ve made new friends, grown my confidence, and learned more than I ever expected.”

Her advice to new trainees? “Lean on your group. Help each other. You’re a team, and you’ll get through it together.”
