We love to celebrate and share the success of our colleagues, so congratulations to Senior Healthcare Assistant Alison for passing the Assistant Practitioner Programme.
We pride ourselves on developing the careers of our people and supporting career progression, with this programme being a key part of that.
Sarah Goodwin is DHU’s Clinical Mandatory Trainer, she said: “This is about strengthening patient care across our services by developing the skills of the people we have. This pathway provides healthcare assistants with a structured, supportive route to progress their careers while remaining in employment.
“I am extremely proud of the hard work and determination Alison has shown throughout the last two years, overcoming many challenges and persevering with this intense programme. This is a huge achievement; Alison continues to be a credit to DHU and should be very proud of achieving a distinction.”
Delivered fully online in partnership with the University of Derby through the apprenticeship scheme, the programme enables colleagues to expand their scope of practice and take the next step in their professional journey.
Alison added: “I’m absolutely thrilled and delighted to be able to push on and continue with a career I love. I can honestly say it has been challenging at times and there were moments I felt completely out of my depth. However, I gave it my best throughout and to come out with a distinction is just amazing.
“The support I received from Sarah Goodwin, my manager Rachel Revill, and Clinical Practice Development Lead Zoe Hunt was phenomenal, and the university was always responsive and helpful. It’s been a challenging journey, and I’m incredibly proud.”
