WhatDoYouDoAtDHU

Meet the DHU Team – Dan Graham

As part of our regular series to introduce you to the incredible individuals working within DHU Health Care, we’re going to be highlighting team members stories and asking them what it takes to keep you safe and healthy each and every day of the year.

We’ll be exploring people’s roles and responsibilities, learning about their teams and giving you a real insight into what it’s like to work in the challenging world of healthcare.

First up in our ‘What Do You Do’ series, we talk to Dan Graham, our Lead Clinical Pharmacist/ Associate Pharmacist Practitioner, who tells us a little about our fantastic pharmacist team…

Dan Graham – Lead Clinical Pharmacist/ Associate Pharmacist Practitioner

Over the last five years DHU Health Care have nurtured a growing team of Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) pharmacists and are involved in developing a career pathway at a national level.

Our team of pharmacists work within the 111 service tackling a varied caseload advising on medication queries, toxic ingestions, repeat medications, health advice and home management of patients. Integrated Urgent Care pharmacists undertake additional training to equip them for their IUC role and those who require the independent prescribing qualification are supported in acquiring this.

We have a number of pharmacists that practice as advance clinical pharmacists and have attained their MSc in Advance Practice. On top of this we also have associate pharmacist positions within the company, where pharmacists are supported as part of their academic development to qualify as advance practitioners.

Did you know that pharmacists are not just employed in the urgent care sector? We even have positions available as a practice based pharmacist for those who want to learn new skills and competencies in the primary care sector.

At DHU we strive to develop the pharmacy profession into more clinical roles and gain a more enriching experience from their working environment.

Thanks to Dan for sharing his story and keep your eyes peeled for DHU’s next #WhatDoYouDo.
