David Fletcher (Purchase Ledger Clerk – Finance) will be braving the shave to remove his lockdown locks on the 16th of September.
The shave will be taking place at DHU Health Care’s Head Office in the Johnson Building Derby, with Sue Wavey of the Salon at No 10 doing the honours.
David is raising for the Derby Child Contact Centre (Ruth’s Place) which provide an environment where non-resident parents (or other relatives) and their children can meet, play and interact together. The Centre offers a neutral location for the handover of a child to the other parent and offers counselling to children.
“My introduction to the Derby Child Contact Centre came after I separated from my wife. Separations can be a challenging time; particularly when children are involved, and I quickly found that I needed advice on the situation.
“My daughters Godmother happened to be a volunteer at the centre and she introduced me to one of the Trustees. She very kindly advised me how to represent myself in court. This meant I avoided expensive legal fees and it led to a favourable outcome. My daughters now have good levels of contact with me and this head shave is my way of thanking the people who helped me, as well as supporting others who have issues I can identify with.”
The target for this charitable event is £1,000. Monies raised will enable the centre to commission a course of counselling for a child who has had traumatic experience of family breakdowns.
Follow along with the great shave as Dave goes bald for a good cause.
