DHU Health Care today (April 1st) launches three new contracts in East Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes.
The company, which is currently celebrating its 30th year in business, continues to grow and has now expanded outside of the East Midlands.
CEO Stephen Bateman said: “I would like to welcome new staff joining us on our journey at this time from East Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes as we start providing new urgent care services to patients in those areas.”
New services across East Leicestershire and Rutland will be provided by DHU Health Care and the East Leicestershire and Rutland GP Federation. The Managing Director of DHU Urgent Care Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, Simon Harris said: “We are proud to be the delivery partners to operate and manage the out of hours services across East Leicestershire and Rutland. We’re looking forward to offering patients the benefits of our experience running urgent care services which are joined up with the 111 telephone helpline to give people access to a range of out of hours care that meets their needs.”
In Milton Keynes a successful joint venture between DHU Health Care CIC and Milton Keynes Urgent Care Services CIC will see both companies working together to provide integrated urgent care throughout the county for the next five years. Services provided will include delivery of care at the Urgent Care Centre in Milton Keynes and a Clinical Assessment Service that will provide enhanced clinical triage by senior clinicians.
DHU Health Care was awarded the contract to deliver the Northamptonshire GP Out of Hours services by NHS Nene and Corby Clinical Commissioning Group. The Northamptonshire GP Out of Hours contract alone will see DHU Health Care’s services being rolled out to cover 780,000 patients across that part of the country.
Formerly Derbyshire Health United, the company was created in 2006 by merging a Chesterfield based company called ‘Derbyshire Healthcare Limited’ (DHC) and a Derby City based company called ‘Derbyshire Medical Services Limited’ (DMS). In 2017 they became DHU Health Care CIC, a community interest company.
