MP Nominates DHU Health Care For National Awards

Chesterfield MP Toby Perkins has nominated teams from DHU Health Care for the prestigious NHS Parliamentary Awards this year.

The NHS Parliamentary Awards provide an excellent opportunity for health and care organisations to engage with local MPs. Last year over 250 Members of Parliament nominated over 600 individuals or organisations for an award.

DHU Health Care has been entered into two categories. In the Excellence in Urgent Care category, the DHU 111 Team have been nominated for their creative approach to developing services which resulted in an Outstanding assessment by the Care Quality Commission. Innovations included improvements in Special Patient Notes and an Interactive Voice Response menu, both of which have improved the response to patients.

In the Wellbeing at Work category, Health, Wellbeing and Diversity Coordinator Sonia Gale and colleagues have been nominated for the development of an extensive Wellbeing Strategy for staff, which includes a wide range of mental health initiatives to support staff throughout the organisation.

Toby Perkins commented, “I have seen the important work DHU Health Care do and the commitment of their staff to patient care at first hand. Local NHS partners speak well of their work and so I am happy to include them amongst my nominations for this year’s NHS Parliamentary Awards.”

Shortlisted entries will be announced at the end of November, with the final Awards ceremony taking place in July 2021.
