DHU Health Care welcomed almost 200 visitors to the Double Tree in Nottingham for their DHU Health Education Day 2019 event.
CEO Stephen Bateman opened the event, which included a packed line up of Doctors and clinicians who were all on hand to share their knowledge and experience in specific specialities of health care.
With a wide range of health issues covering areas such as suicide prevention, paediatrics, cardiology, Gynaecology and Urgent Care minor injuries it was an opportunity to meet and network with colleagues from all DHU Divisions and give them a better understanding of the services we provide.
Dr Ian Matthews, Medical Director DHU Health Care, said: “It was great to see clinicians from across the whole of DHU coming together for this event, including those from Northamptonshire for the first time. We covered a wide range of useful topics both clinical and non-clinical. The speakers were excellent and I think gave everyone food for thought. I certainly learnt new things on the day. We aim to continue this as an annual event with the agenda driven by feedback from our clinicians.”
The DHU flu team were in attendance to promote the vaccination and offer free flu jabs, with 22 vaccines given throughout the day.
Stephen Bateman, CEO of DHU Health Care, said: “It was my pleasure to open the event and welcome nearly 200 of our clinical staff to DHU’s annual Health Education day.
With clinical staff from across all our services, and it was the first time that we welcomed staff from our East Leicestershire and Northamptonshire urgent care services, as well as from some of our NHS provider partners. The day included some great expert speakers covering key relevant topics to support their clinical and professional development.
It was also an opportunity to say a personal thank you to our clinical workforce for the care and treatment they provide to our patients (nearly 3 million consultations per year) across the East Midlands region.”
