Health services provided by DHU Health Care in Leicestershire have been rated as ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The CQC is the regularity body for health and social care, and visited various premises in January and March this year. They awarded a Good rating for every area of the services they reviewed.
The Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) division of not-for-profit company DHU Health Care specialises in Integrated Urgent Care. It delivers a wide range of services to patients, including Urgent Care Centres, 24/7 Clinical Navigation, Home Visiting, Night Nursing Service, Leicester City Hubs (including the Merlyn Vaz) and GP Practices.
The CQC inspectors who visited Westcotes Health Centre and Saffron Health Centre found that the service routinely reviewed the effectiveness and appropriateness of the care it provided, and ensured that care and treatment was delivered according to evidence-based guidelines. Staff involved treated people with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect.
Further visits to Oadby, Melton Mowbray, Oakham and Market Harborough Urgent Care Centres established that there was a strong focus on continuous learning and improvement at all levels of the organisation. Staff also expressed positive views on their working relationships with managers.
