On the 7th of February DHU Health Care presented Ashgate Hospicecare with a donation of £205 which they had raised over the Christmas period.
Billie Pursglove, Community Fundraiser from Ashgate Hospicecare, was greeted by DHU colleagues at our Out of Hours Urgent Care Centre in Ashgate Manor, Chesterfield.
Staff working over the busy Christmas period in the NHS 111 call centre took part in a daily raffle to raise money for Ashgate Hospicecare.
The service, which for two weeks over Christmas was ranked number 1 in the country out of all the NHS 111 providers, saw many colleagues work additional hours or stay late to give patients the best care possible.
Ashgate Hospicecare is a charity based in Chesterfield that provides care to patients with a life-limiting illness and their families across North Derbyshire. All of their services are provided free of charge.
Billie Pursglove, Community Fundraiser, said: “Thank you for raising the funds, which will go towards keeping the Hospice running. There is a big project going on at the moment called Here For the Future to determine how we can carry on and be here for the future under an increasing demand – so the more funds we can bring in the better.”
