DHU Health Care held a Christmas Party for under 5’s at Treetops Activity Centre in Alfreton to collect Christmas presents for vulnerable children and low income families.
The event, organised by Dawn Davis (Nurse Advisor), took place on December 6 and saw Santa and Mrs Claus visiting excited DHU families at the soft play centre. Christmas jumpers were essential, as the children and adults got dressed up to enjoy a buffet and a festive raffle. Mince pies, hot drinks and cake were also on hand to keep the parents spirits up.
9 Santa sacksful of toys were collected by DHU staff for vulnerable children and then donated to Alex Shaw and Sharon Insull who are health visitors from Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Dawn Davis said: “I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who attended, I hope everyone had a good time and thank you to all DHU staff for all the beautiful toys collected for those children most in need this Christmas.”
Visitors from DHNFT said they were ‘so overwhelmed by the generosity of DHU staff and wanted to thank everyone who donated, they are looking forward to distributing all toys to those most in need before Christmas.’
